RACE: Are We So Different? is the first national exhibition to tell the stories of race from the biological, cultural, and historical points of view. The African Origins kiosk invites visitors to spin a custom wheel controller to learn about the geographic distribution of human genetic diversity over time.
During production for the exhibit, Red Hill Studios developed a customization tool to allow a scientific advisor to fine tune the representation of data before producing the final animation. Once he had arranged the visual representation of the data in a way he felt best represented the information, he was able to press a button and export an xml file that was then used to draw the animation. This is a great example of our smart development strategies.
